Poetry can get a bad rep, with the idea that in order to find and appreciate good poetry you have to have a formal education, or that in order to create good poetry you have to have a life full of tragedy and mental illness.
I'm here to say nope.
Write poetry, read poetry, see poetry in the clouds. Life is poetry and I want to help you see that.
ABOUT ME
While earning a BA in English, I read a thing or two. I also didn't read a lot of things that most other English majors did, thanks to an abnormal high school education that morphed into a unique path to graduation. I've been lucky enough to find ways to use my degree in my daily life, including my profession, and wanted to share some of what I learned and some of what I didn't learn with anyone who cared enough to listen (or read, as the case may be). As grateful as I am for my formal education, I don't believe that everyone needs a 4-year program to teach them how to understand and appreciate the world. We all have ideas and I wanted to share some of mine. Hence, Poetica Vitae.
